We need some mechanism at the front of the barrel to ensure the side panels don't diverge. Maybe some kind of small angle joint?

The bearing mechanism doesn't work due to several problems:

  1. The flexibility of the acrylic panels means the bearing balls would fall out
    2.The acrylic panels reach too close to the edge,making it impossible to install side panels on top of them
  2. There is a gap between the bearing balls and the inner disk, meaning the whole thing would wobble when spinning.

Surprisingly, weight was not an issue.

I propose using double-conical bearing cylinders instead. These cylinders could then be bolted onto a track. By adjusting the spacing between bearing disks, we can have very fine-grained control of the gaps between bearing cylinders.

This would require us to re-print the first ring of angle joints, and re-cut acrylic panels.

Moreover, the stator should be glued to each other at 12 points along the perimeter in order to prevent warping.
